Update on the VW Polo Viral "Scandal"

Good news for Lee and Dan, the guys behind the fake viral clip for the VW Polo. They no longer have to hide from VW's lawyers (Source: Reuters):

Volkswagen said in a statement it had received sworn statements from the two creators -- Dan Brooks and Lee Ford -- acknowledging that they made the ad but had not intended for it to be distributed.

"The creators regret the distribution of the film, will not publicize it further and apologize unreservedly for the damage caused to Volkswagen," it said, adding that the company would now drop legal action against the pair.

Well, looks like everybody is happy now... just a simple "we are sorry" and everything is cool... Life can be so easy sometimes... ;-)

BTW, a new viral clip, featuring Volkswagen's new Golf GTI, surfaced this week - this one is absolutely authentic , fully licensed...

...and pretty boring.

Just for the record: still no link at the end of the clip, still no tracking !?
